Please join us at the 2018 Fall Dinner and Speaker Event which will be held on Friday, October 19.  Here is the event flyer.

Where:
The Copper House Tavern, 380 Winter St., Waltham, MA.  
When:  
5:30 - 6:30 p.m.:  Cocktail Hour
6:30 p.m.:  Buffet Dinner
7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.: Talk and Q & A
Cost:  
$20 per person.  Payable by cash, check, or Venmo/Paypal on day of event.

The featured speaker will be Dr. Dan Weiner of Boston University.  
The topic will be "The Mysterious Cauchy Distribution."


"Imagine you are at a child's birthday party and many children are playing pin
the tail on the donkey. After the game, you have a bunch of pin-holes on the
wall and you wonder where the donkey's tail actually was. This collection of
points is a sample from the [in]famous Cauchy Distribution, which has some
fascinating properties that we'll discuss."
